Inspirations: Kelvin Lugo Belen
Inspired by the pure way children see the world (as understood through the work of researchers like Jean Piaget), my painting “The Eyes of Childhood” seeks to explore a gaze filled with wonder; a way of looking that is full of curiosity, color, and hope. As time passes, we slowly lose this ability and stop seeing the world with the same sense of amazement and brightness. In this work, I aim to capture the pure and luminous way in which children observe everyday life. Their gaze is filled with curiosity, innocence, and awe; a way of seeing that has not yet been clouded by haste, disappointment, or the indifference of the adult world.
