Aside from the obvious connection to Academic Realism, Nirosha’s drawing can be said to illustrate strong connections to Traditional Sri Lankan Motifs. Sri Lankan art has a long history of incorporating nature (such as flowers and animals) into narrative storytelling, a tradition seen in ancient Kandyan murals.
