One of the unique cultural performances distinctive to Sri Lanka is known as “Kolam,” which incorporates a sense of humor within the local village society. While there are various stories performed in “Kolam,” most of the main characters showcase comical performances. The masks used in Kolam are a unique feature, exclusive to this art form. My artwork portrays the character “Jasaya,” who has a boastful and inebriated persona. This character is renowned for its humor, effectively alleviating fatigue in the local village commune.
