This painting was inspired by Western artist William Acheff. He got me started on the theme of using old photographs as backdrops in my still life paintings. In this case, I called upon my collection of vintage toys and an old photo of my little brother. They remind me that the past is as real as the present, and memories from our childhood are as strong as the keepsakes.
